Red Willow Dairy
Three Star Dairy
In 1997, a family from Texas and a family from Arizona left behind their former homes and work places to come to southwest Nebraska to establish large, modern, state-of-the-art dairy operations. Their two milking operations cost a combined total of $5.5 million and have created approximately 35 full time jobs with an annual payroll in excess of $500,000. In addition, the dairies have given an economic boost to area feed and service suppliers. Dairy operations also increase property values. It is estimated that 160 acres of developed dairy property is equivalent to 50 to 60 quarters of irrigated land in revenue potential. This project was partially financed through CDBG. |
