Rex Nelson 12.06.04 - McCook, Nebraska . . . McCook Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced December 6th, 2004 the successful recruitment of Pawnee Aviation to the McCook area.

Rex Nelson, MEDC executive director, expressed his confidence in Pawnee Aviation CEO, Ron Willocks, "Pawnee Aviation will make an impact on McCook and the surrounding area as they build and design helicopters." Pawnee Aviation will receive $300,000 from the Community Development Block Grant revolving loan fund held by the Red Willow County Commissioners. Pawnee Aviation will start with ten full-time equivalent employees and grow as they meet the private and public demand for the helicopters.

Ron Willocks Ron Willocks stated, "McCook will be a wonderful partner and an ideal location as we begin our production phase of the Warrior (single-seat) and Chief (2-3 seat) helicopters." Willocks has invented and designed highly efficient helicopters that are inexpensive to purchase and operate, yet are capable of lifting heavy payloads. A location has not been determined for the manufacturing site.

Greg Wolford, president of the McCook Economic Development Corporation board of directors, acknowledged the "diligence and research devoted to making this project feasible for McCook" and thanked Rex Nelson and his staff for their efforts.
