The MEDC Homebuyer Education class is based upon the nationally recognized programs of Neighborhood Reinvestment Training Institute and REACH (Readiness Education Awareness Collaborative for Homebuyers and Homeowners).
Local professionals involved with presentations in real estate, insurance, lending and home maintenance included: Colleen Grant, Val Kircher, Scott Jeffers, Randy Korgan and Terry Rouse.
Completing the course were: Karen Brunswick, Jeff Johnson, Brent Klein, Madelyn McKain, Jim Morrow and Lindsey Zysset. Key areas addressed included:
- Choosing the right home.
- Understanding the roles of the professionals involved.
- The rights and the responsibilities of the consumer.
- Budgeting and credit.
- Obtaining a mortgage loan.
