2006 Holiday Home Tour & Country Whimsey Craft Show a Success

The holiday spirit was in full force as 221 participants toured homes on Saturday during the 2nd Holiday Home Tour. McCook Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Housing Committee member, Becky Dutcher was excited to announce, “through the support of our sponsors and the excellent turnout on Saturday, this event netted $2,675 to support the new Purchase, Rehab, Resale program for first-time homebuyers and homebuyer education classes.” MEDC Executive Director, Rex Nelson offered his praise, “Our organization is extremely grateful to the homeowners for opening their homes in support of our efforts.” Numerous compliments were heard about the lovely homes of Dr. Toby & Elise Free, Karen Hartman, Stacie & Jeff Shaddock and Senator George Norris.

The event started at the Heritage Senior Center where participants received their program, map, and could participate in the silent auction, while enjoying the Country Whimsey craft show. Over 70 volunteers were involved selling tickets, promoting, helping at the Senior Center and hosting in the homes.
